Why does anybody use Comcast if they have this kind of behavior?

If a company in Hong Kong did that then they'd be out of business asap.

because they have literally no other choice. In some areas, they are the only provider.

I do, I have one other ISP. Frontier. They cost twice as much for the same speeds.

muh specs

Gaming and HTPC (reparations)- ASUS 1080, MSI X99A SLI Plus, 5820k- 4.5GHz @ 1.25v, asetek based 360mm AIO, RM 1000x, 16GB memory, 750D with front USB 2.0 replaced with 3.0  ports, 2 250GB 850 EVOs in Raid 0 (why not, only has games on it), some hard drives

Screens- Acer preditor XB241H (1080p, 144Hz Gsync), LG 1080p ultrawide, (all mounted) directly wired to TV in other room

Stuff- k70 with reds, steel series rival, g13, full desk covering mouse mat

All parts black

Workstation(desk)- 3770k, 970 reference, 16GB of some crucial memory, a motherboard of some kind I don't remember, Micomsoft SC-512N1-L/DVI, CM Storm Trooper (It's got a handle, can you handle that?), 240mm Asetek based AIO, Crucial M550 256GB (upgrade soon), some hard drives, disc drives, and hot swap bays

Screens- 3  ASUS VN248H-P IPS 1080p screens mounted on a stand, some old tv on the wall above it.

Stuff- Epicgear defiant (solderless swappable switches), g600, moutned mic and other stuff.

Laptop docking area- 2 1440p korean monitors mounted, one AHVA matte, one samsung PLS gloss (very annoying, yes). Trashy Razer blackwidow chroma...I mean like the J key doesn't click anymore. I got a model M i use on it to, but its time for a new keyboard. Some edgy Utechsmart mouse similar to g600. Hooked to laptop dock for both of my dell precision laptops. (not only docking area)

Ok, their data meter is back up. For 12 days of streaming TV, I have used 280GB of data for JUST THAT.

I used 842GB total data last month, and I wasn't even home much.

Maybe we all should just go get Library cards and read. Then not give these fuckers any more of our money. What are they going to do? Buy the library? Comcast business class isnt much more money if I recall. More people will just go there. They cant put these caps on businesses. Or can they?

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.

I don't see why your complaining? I pay $100 for 2Mbit download(and 0.6Mbit upload) and a 500GB cap.

Because it's almost impossible to hit 500GB a month with this internet speed. the max is 650GB if it was downloading at full speed the whole month every day.

But for people with faster Internet it's a lot easier to hit 1TB a month. If I were to use my connection at full speed every day I would sit at around 7.7 TB a month, and my connection isn't that fast (25 Mbit/s). Now imagine people with a 100 Mbit/s conenction. they can use up to 30 TB a month.

The faster your inetrnet, the easier it is to use a lot of data. And it hurts those people the most if they get capped.

This is all about protecting their precious cable tv cash:

https://www.dslreports.com/shownews/FCC-Report-Cable-TV-Retrans-Fees-Jumped-63-in-One-Year-138105

They are scared of Netflix, Youtube and any other over-the-top service that uses an open pipeline to give the customer choice, especially at a lower price. I'm sure that Charter, my local cable company will also push harder for this soon enough.

What we really need is community owned broadband:

I have business class with my provider (since i'm renting a place at a motel for a few months I can't get regular internet) and I get severe drops in my speed when I download too much in a day. (5-10 gigs) Paying $70 for 15 mb speeds(rarely ever 15 mb).. no cable or any other package with it

I can break it down further. Im sure the shareholders are leaning on the CEO. Shareholders want that stock prices to go up. Maybe want more dividends, but Im not sure if Comcast pays dividends. America's contribution to the world is Greed. We have more greedy bastards in this nation than any other nation. Our investors dont look at the long term they only give a shit about the short term. Because at the end of the day, the Shareholders own the company.

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.
