Bench Build: 2xTitan X Pascal in SLI, 6900K, Custom Watercooling

Whats up, y'all!  Before putting my Titan X's into Nostromo, I wanted to test them with aircooling, and that called for a new test bench build.  

 

Complete Specs:
Intel Core i7 6900K
2x Titan X Pascal (in SLI)
64 GB Corsair Dominator Platinum 3333mhz
ASUS Rampage V Edition 10
2x Samsung 950 Pro SSD (512 GB) 
Dimastech Easy V3 Bench
Corsair AX 1200i

Maybe not so much of a 'waste' as a pleasure...

I mean people with Lambos could drive around in Hondas but they choose not to because they don't have to, and to them (and to me, to a certain extent) it is worth it.

I don't advocate people taking food out of their childrens' mouths to build expensive computers.  Nor do I think you should sacrifice other, more important things: cultural enrichment, travel, safety, health, etc.  But if you're lucky enough to be able to afford spending money on something you really enjoy without making such sacrifices...What's the big deal?  I give money to charity, I am active in my community, I make time for family and culture, and I do this.

Exactly.  Cars aren't my thing.  For a lot of people, they love putting disposable income into their vehicles, then spending every weekend under the hood, cruising forums, etc.  For me, it's hardware.

I understand it's not a criticism.  But my situation is not that different.  I suppose houses and gold are a good investment but...I dunno.  Saving for future generations?  Seems like cheating to me.  ;-)

My uncle was going to give me a 980Ti, but bailed. I am trying to decide on what to put in. I'm also spending a 1/4 on the case, so I have my priorities straight

I would've done it differently and consider this project as money wasting.

Nice build! You have done excellent job! You don't have to explain to others why you have done this! Just enjoy doing things you like. I am "a few" years older than you and I had very bad near dead experience and now I am doing only things I like (nothing bad) without explaining why. Ok I have done a lot of work for kids, community and good things, so I think that I can do things I like with no thoughts about earning money in this projects, computers, electronics games. 

There are a lot of bad people who spent 10 times more money for narcotics, guns ... but they don't explain why!

 

You have done great job, I like it. It's almost art, so keep doing such good job and interesting videos. I wish you all the best!

I also dislike when people always claim you're wasting your money just because they wouldn't spend money on what you did. I don't make much as a grad student (20k before taxes) but in the past few years have spent $2500 on PC parts, spent $1500+ on a used mountain bike, bought a used snowmobile, bought some new skis and boards, etc, and still managed to save money along the way. Why? Because my priorities are different than other people's. I don't need a nice place so I rent cheap, I don't really enjoy drinking so I don't go to bars, I don't care about fashion so I buy cheap clothes, I drive a 15yo car, etc.

 

People criticize my spending choices yet don't bat an eye at spending $100-200 a week at a bar and buying new jeans and shoes every month. As long as you are financially responsible, saving money, and not diminishing the lives of your loved ones/others then people should be able to spend money on whatever makes them happy. It's only an issue when people are dumb enough to rack up credit card debt to buy luxury items that they can't afford and don't need.

Benchmarks forthcoming, but I was definitely concerned about this point.  Seems like that's not really going on in any games.
