As you can see, at 2.6GHz (no Turbo) the 6700HQ performs the same as the 6600K with full turbo. Now imagine the 6700HQ at 3.1GHz for all 8 threads - in modern AAA games which use 6-8 cores/threads - that is a HUGE benefit especially when i5s are beginning to bottleneck high end GPUs

Yes, 1060 is more powerful, that is quite obvious - you forget that I am talking about 1060 laptops which start at 1400$ :)

Yes because, for the sake of our comparison, a 1060 desktop pc with the quality additions you suggested costs 1400$+ That was the point all along, how did I miss it....

A decent desktop costs only 100$ less than a decent laptop in 2016 - what a surprise...

As much as you don't want to admit it, laptops are MUCH better now than they were 3 years ago

1000$? You can usually get a HP Omen 2016 with a 256GB SSD. 965M, i7 6700HQ, decent Samsung SSD, 4-5 hours of battery, 1080p matte IPS screen, okay speakers (akin to 40$ shit you find at micro centre) and 8-16GB of RAM (depending on the sale).
A desktop with the same specs comes in around 850-900$

Y700 has a 6700HQ and a 960M - that performs EXACTLY the same as a 6600K + 750 TI - those 2 (along with a Z170 board) cost about 400-500$ alone.

Depends on the game - things like FO4 or Cities Skyline - the i3 won't be enough to get you 40fps
Games like Witcher 3? 1060 will be handling it.

K? If not K it'll start to bottleneck triple A games. Barely, but a bit. Just like how a 6700HQ starts to bottleneck modern day triple AAA games.
