Then there definitely is a chance that the hard drive is causing that.

Hello!

I'm currently using an H81M-P33 motherboard from MSI. I tried to install and sort out the problem details in my bios when i was installing ubuntu with windows. I restart and it keeps giving me the test "A2" in the corner of my screen for a really long time and can't even boot up into the bios. Can anyone help me?

Specs:

Motherboard - Msi H81M-P33

GPU - GTX 760 TI

CPU - Intel pentium G3250

Ram - Mushkin Silverline 1 stick 8GB

A2 code means IDE Detect so it probably is related to your hard drive, but it doesn't make any sense to not be able get into the BIOS because of a hard drive.

yeah. but mine's SATA. Oddly enough it freezes up my main rig, but not my $150 rig.

If it's freezing one and not the other the problem could also be the motherboard.

Nah, I think it is the order of read drives vs. posting. I think my board tries to read drives then post, but the other one posts then reads drives. Probably for bios flashing purposes

i Have been working 5h now! But, i found the cause! disconnected my harddrive and got into the bios. apperently it was stopping my pc from posting. i set the bios to the defaults and restarted with my SSHD and got into windows. Thanks for the suggestions!
