Posted September 14, 2016 Recently (today), I have received a message from chrome saying somebody is watching my yahoo historic, and then were informing me it was a possible hacker. I know it's probably not one, but I can conclude my school is checking our historic from distance when we are on their wifi. That's bad if I want to check things that are not allowed. So is there anyway to remove potential spyware from my pc, or to at least find them in order to destroy them? I am using the PC they give to each students, which probably means they installed something in my computer before giving it to us. So true it hurts

Posted September 14, 2016 First of all, you should stop checking things that are not allowed if you are on a school owned computer. Use your own. Second, you can clean install windows to remove any spyware, but that's probably against the rules too. And third, yes, if you use the school wifi they can know what sites you visit, you can prevent this by using a free VPN. Those are not cheap. You could also use DuckDuckGo which is a very good search engine that doesn't let companies watch your browser. Malware Bytes is good for scanning for spyware/malware. You should also try CCleaner to clear your cache. If you're really desperate you could use Tor, but I don't really recommend that.
 Posted September 14, 2016 Keep in mind that if they're monitoring your internet traffic then they could very well also realize you're using a VPN, which in my experience, nets much more dire consequences. Posted September 15, 2016 Using a live USB with Linux on it is a safe way to get around that, you don't have to know much about Linux just how to click the Firefox button. And unlike wiping your PC there's no trace after you switch back to Windows. If you're savvy enough, you can install the Linux version to a flashdrive and be able to download and run programs if you know Linux. PS. VPNs can be seen by the network admins (while your at school) since all traffic goes out of their network the same way.
 Posted September 15, 2016 Keep in mind, if you leasing the laptop from the school and sign the contract thing you can't really do anything. Reinstall windows which will remove all related school bootwares or you can disable the programs if you know what program they are using. If you have bios access just reinstall windows and just connect to their domains/wifi. Magical Pineapples
