What'll be the next first thing that you'd buy as of now if the money you need came for it in exact amount you wished but for one hardware alone  , Please state only One hardware alone (or make it an either options)

For me  It'll either be a  GPU or a  mechanical keyboard

Well, atm I'm troubleshooting why my PC's wifi is acting up, so very possibly a pair of powerline adapters in the next few hours :P

 

Aside from that, there's literally nothing that needs upgrading. 4690K, RX 480, 16GB RAM, nice monitor, mech keyboard... I'm set :D

Have to start renewing my hard drive fleet:

Top 3 drives are 2Tb Hitachi/HGST 7K2000/7K3000 drives.  Getting older.  Other two drives are 120gb and 160gb drives that I found in the junk bin (2.5") that will eventually be replaced for SSDs for the main system drive.

 

Waiting for 6Tb drives to fall to the $150 CAD$ point, hopefully next Christmas/Black Friday.  Its all in RAID-1, so I'm not worried about drive failure.  But the stuff is getting old.

GPU or CPU cooler (or SSD, if I wasn't so lazy and keen to how W10 is now running with a lot of little tweaks that I would reinstall it).

I7 6950, or a Xeon with more cores thats at least 3.6 Ghz. Wouldnt have to change my mobo.

I'm pretty content. If I were to throw in something I'd like it'd be...

  • A new mechanical keyboard, not that I need one. But I do like Corsair's design and I want one, but finding an MX Brown one is kind of tricky.
  • A 27" 4K GSync monitor. Or at least one with ULMB. I don't really care for the 144Hz part and I already have another 27" 4K monitor and the disjointed borders are kind of annoying to use
  • I kind of want a new MP3 player. I have a Walkman NZW-A117 but there's enough nagging issues with the firmware that it makes the iPod touch look appealing. But alas, I don't want an iPod touch, music apps on my phone kill the battery faster than I'd like, and nobody else makes an MP3 player these days worth giving two hoots about. And as much as I would've gotten a Zune HD again, I'm finding Bluetooth is a very nice feature.

I am waiting to see what games are offered first, besides the second generation of the consumer edition will be better.

 

I like the ergonomic design of the Oculus Rift but if HTC Vive sign the better exclusives of the two, I will definitely consider the Vive over the Oculus Rift.
