Which RX Card is good for me?

harveylong26

I want to upgrade my GPU in the workstation I have. I currently have an R7 250 1GB GPU in there at the moment (I hate it, it's loud and doesn't game at all.) I want to upgrade however, I don't want to go overboard and buy a 1080 or 1070 as I won't use it as much for the price I'm paying. So I've chosen an AMD card, that's new. Which RX card would be best for me? I play games, I edit videos and use Photoshop daily. Games I would like to play are the Witcher 3, DOOM, Deus EX - Mankind Divided and some other new titles. I have a G3258 CPU but it OCed to 4.7Ghz and people said this would be fine and shouldn't bottleneck with the RX series cards.

My Build: G3258 OC@4.4GHz - Raijintek Aidos - 8GB Ballistix Sport - H81M-S2H - ASUS R7 250 1GB OC - Corsair Carbide SPEC-01 - EVGA 500+ BRONZE - Windows 10 Pro - Logitech MX Master & K800 Keyboard

My Laptop: Macbook Pro (mid 2010) - C2D @ 2.6GHz - 8GB Apple Ram - Nvidia Geforce 320m 512mb - 850 Evo 120GB + 500GB WD Blue - OS X Sierra

RX470 or RX480 but don't get the reference model - they're hot

Yeah, I heard the RX480 Saphire cards got pretty hot. Any 3rd party models of the cards you recommend?

MSI Gaming X, PowerColor Red Devil, GigaByte G1

not sure about ASUS Dual - I tend to stay away from them

I highly recommend you also look into upgrading your CPU, it's not good enough for RX 480, or even the 470.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D GPU: AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT 16GB GDDR6 Motherboard: MSI PRESTIGE X570 CREATION
AIO: Corsair H150i Pro RAM: Corsair Dominator Platinum RGB 32GB 3600MHz DDR4 Case: Lian Li PC-O11 Dynamic PSU: Corsair RM850x White
