dt 990 pro 250 ohm (used) VS HyperX Cloud II (new)

oldnick

I got both dt 990 pro 250 ohm (used) VS HyperX Cloud II (new) on sale for about the same price (dt 990 pro 250 ohm (used) is about 10 dollar higher)

which one should i get for general use (mostly movies) some times games and music and i value COMFORT over all then of coruse the sound quality

note i dont like the open back in the dt 990 pro 250 ohm ( can tolerate that if there is big deference in performance)

also i could use the surround sound some tames so this is a bonus for the cloud

i dont have a dac or amp ( maybe will by one later if needed )

which one should i get ( if you have other suggestions in the same price range please leave it in the comments)

thanks

990 gets my vote IF you're not in a noisy place. What about the open back do you not like?

Virtual surround is bullshit.

do you think it will work well with (asus pro gaming z170i)

or should i get external dac from the start (which will double the cost)

It would be fine. I have the 990s myself and I have no issues driving them off of my: Z97s SLI Plus, Z87m Gaming, iPhone 5s, iPhone 6s+, rMBP, and SP3.

But why do you not like the open design of the 990s? Are you in a loud room or something?

Hands down the 990 pro if you can drive it.Just awesome headphones for their money! Most newer Mobos have an amp on-board. so it's worth a shot.
