71c is 100% fine. The BIOS's have a built in threshold limit by default of 83c

I am hitting 71c on load, is that normal for this card? just want to see i have everything running OK.

Games are awesome at 1440P now.

Its designed to continue to boost its frequency until it hits 70c then throttle back a bit. Working as designed.
