Eh, if I leave GTA going for a while it will reach it, idk, must be something with the DCU2.

Nvidia cards are supposed to throttle before 90 C though... mine sits at high 60s / low 70s when under full load indefinitely

Mine will just sit there at 90-92 while gaming, probably not the best idea to keep on playing but oh well, gotta find a reason to replace this card sooner or later anyway

Running 100% usage 24/7. You will see a failure in a rather short period, to a small degree. Some small artifact here or there, of which when it comes to rendering out the next Pixar or DreamWorks movie, it IS a big deal. :/ 

 

However, no it does NOT justify the $5000 pricetag. :P

well for those Pixar people it does since it's not a question of value - it's "do we release on time or not?" and they can't afford missing a multi-million dollar target because of rendering errors.

Indeed! To be fair, they probably don't necessarily NEED such hardware since they're probably already contracted out by whatever companies (I'd assume IBM holds the reigns on that one but I'm talking out my ass here. <~>) and these are more for the aspiring companies looking to make a name for themselves.

God I hate using my phone. Caught fire. But yes, a typical GeForce card shouldn't catch fire with 24/7 use but there is no promises

If I remember correctly, Renderman hardly touches the GPU (if at all)  when doing the actual rendering. It's primarily software. 

 

Monsters University was rendered in software on Pixar's render farm, consisting of nodes that total over 24,000 cpu (cores?). GPUs were used in workstations when performing the animation and previewing lighting + shading.

Yes. I've been playing A variety of games on my Dell precision M4700 with quadro 2100M upgraded by myself.

 

It would perform very closely to a Geforce card with similar spec.

 

Though it would not support Geforce only functions such as Gsync, some quadro only features are very useful such as nview.Nview allows you to merge multiple multiple monitors, just like it is aw single monitor.
