HTPC/Light gaming case choice

Sean-

Hey im looking for a case to act as a HTPC and for light gaming - stuff like Civ 5 etc

It will be in a living room

Im thinking maybe to go with the Fractal Node 605, using an ATX board and maybe a 970, or 1060/70 card

Any tips/advise or other suggetions - thanks!

go with 1060 if u really dont want to do 1070, if u got the money 1070, but the 1060 is better in ghz by 970

Word of advice having built in a Node 605 - get a short PSU like an EVGA GS or Seasonic G-series and get a micro ATX motherboard. ATX motherboards will interfere with installing an optical drive slot.

It's a beautiful case once dusted off and de-fingerprinted, would highly recommend.

Im not gonna be installing an optical drive so should be ok

What GFX card did you have in the Node, was it spacious enough for the new 1060/70s?

Great thanks!

How was cable management?

Ill be going with 1 SSD and 1 HDD, probably a noctua air cooler on the CPU, maybe 1060/1070, EVGA PSU, still yet to choose final build just doing some research

I know all about fingerprints though, just built this a month ago, aluminum and tempered glass is a nightmare ha

It was good enough for a case where I would never see the cables but don't expect a Define R5.

If you get an EVGA PSU, get the GS as I suggested. Will fit nicely as it's short. Modular cables will help a bit with cable management.

Oh lol yeah you know fingerprints pretty well xD
