Buy Apple Watch now OR wait for the new Apple Watch 2??

Hi,

I am getting someone an Apple Watch as a present, not in a big hurry.

There have been mnay leaks of the new Apple Watch coming out in September.

Yes, they have an iPhone, which will work best with the Apple Watch and the features.

I've owned android wear smartwatches and the Apple watch, its not for everyone. Id say give it a test run in store and see if it suits their need first. I stopped using them after a while. unless its a surprise

What I personally would do, is wait for the new Apple Watch to come out, and then buy the original. Why? The price will drop exceedingly, and personally I can't justify spending $600 on a smartwatch that will have maybe 20% more features than the original one, which will most likely hover around $200-300 (from 3rd-party vendors obviously, not from Apple itself). 

 

It's your call though, if I had to choose one, it'd be the original.
