It's abnormally hot for a HoF 970 but not overheating. Start worrying when it goes past 85-86*C

You may want to invest in a better case cooling fans if your fan on the GTX 970 can't cool it down or is not running correctly. Also, not too sure but you may be able to turn your fan up to a higher rpm manually using the NVIDIA Control Panel for the GPU fan.

You want to keep your card at a MAXIMUM of 70 degrees centigrade, 82 is way to much and is dangerous for the integrity of the card. Take it out right away and buy this

Kind of.

It will reduce lifespan but isn't something that would be considered serious if you're careful. I would advise buying some more fans and doing what you can to improve airflow.

That's bullshit. The max temp for this GPU is 95*C. He should keep it under 86*C. 70*C is fucking freezing...

The case only fits three fans when you have a HDD, I think the problem is something to do with my custom fan curve not working. The card is pretty quite at these temps and it shouldnt be.

Don you would freak if you saw my temps. Have you tried being nice to your GPU? I give mine the occasional fruit basket.

If anyone asks you never saw me.

... Or you could do what I did, and rip out the extra PCI retainers on the case and stick an 80mm fan there to blow air into the GPU cooler.

Mine used to run at 69*C but that's besides the point. 82*C is abnormal for a 970 HoF BUT it is nowhere near lethal as our friendly neighbourhood troll would have the OP believe.

Then maybe you should invest in a better case that allows more fans to be added or you could do some DIY work to try and fit both in on your current case.

Your GPU could simply be defective

82 centigrade is not good for the card. It will drop dead in a year from now Im 100% sure of that. You don't know the importance of caring for your hardware which reflects upon the condition of your card compared to the condition of my cards.

Well you'll need to find some other way of cooling if you don't want to purchase another case.

I definitely would say that 82 is pretty hot. Just take steps to improve airflow. I hope that number is under max load though haha

My GPU ran at 69*C for a year and died. Care to explain why? You can't? Let me - YOUR LOGIC IS  BULLSHIT.

I think its partly to do with the custom PSU cover in my case that might be restricting airflow as the psu acts as an intake I believe
