Still perfecting Curve Optimisation but pretty happy with where we're sitting currently, especially given its nearly 30°C in here right now.

Nothing fancy, just working on my 2700X again going for a balance of speed and power/heat. 165W PPT, uncapped EDC and TDC, running 3900-4000mhz all core and averaging around 3950mhz with DDR4 3400 C16-16-16 RAM. I'm hitting within a few hundred points of my old best scores but with less power and heat and at nearly the same clock speeds with less voltage AND I still have high 4.3Ghz single core boost speeds. I feel like this is a win-win!

Just got a Ryzen 9 5900x last week and this is the best i can pull off R20 at the moment.  Glad to be over 9,000 but really irritated i can't get my clocks above 5ghz.  Max clock speed is 4,950.50ghz with a max temp of 79*c.

Oh well, its about double of what i was getting out of my old R7 3700x

Bump your RAM voltage up a little to 1.4 volts and try to tighten up the 22 part of your timings to 20 or 18, also there should be some finer tuning for PBO to push it's max clocks up higher. Probably need a higher scalar to actually get it up there but it'll do it.

What is this program i see so many of you guys using?

It's benchmate. It's required for some HWBOT submissions.

Im fairly new to playing within the bios and have spent the last week learning and trying to get all i can out of my 5900x.  I fine tuned my PPT-TDC-EDC as well as the curve optimizer with PBO and ive gotten my system as stable as i can figure with those and temps are under control but I haven't gotten into Ram Timings yet.

I am going to look into that now i guess, i didn't know ram timings affected cpu clock speeds?  Never thought about it i guess but it makes sense.

So if anyone reads these and knows i gotta question.  I spent all day going about setting power limits and individually finding my CPU's limits per core on negative curves to get it running cool while also giving me the best performance.  on Cinebench R20 and R23 I was able to get the same by backing off PBO and going with a 4.6mhz OC across all cores at 1.33v.

So with one being flat at 4600mhz and the other moving through PBO's and in cinebench settling at around 4500 with only the very start boosting to a quick 4950mhz for a second before it settles which would be the better move to stick with?

Both are running smooth and cool at idle around 37-39 to a max temp of 77 (on PBO2) vs 80 (on 46.00 across all cores OC).   Just wondering what would be preferred on a day to day basis of gaming mixed with video rendering?

Thanks

Best R20 4600 all core OC.png
