I did have it at 4.3 all cores briefly a while back, no issues, but only to see if it posts and boots. I put it straight back.

If i go to 4.3 (and i take you point on doing it by CCX) should i reduce volts further? 1.2 > 1.15?

You could try that. I have my CCXs set up like this (there's four because I have a 3950X) 4.3GHz/4.275GHz/4.25GHz/4.225GHz at 1.256V. To run all four CCXs at 4.2GHz i needed about 1.225V and 4.3GHz was around 1.275V. Software overclocking is quite useful as you can change them on the fly without having to enter the BIOS and reboot all the time which might upset Windows.

RAM

I used the DRAM calc for Ryzen to get the initial set of all the timing to get that 3200 and tweaked a little further.

I want to push closer to 3600 but not sure on volts here too. Don't know if advisable to go above 1.35v just for a bench and then put it straight back

You can bench at higher voltages safely enough. Since it's a strenuous load for at most a minute you'll barely affect long term stability. You won't be able to run the RAM overclock at 1.35V though. You would have to go back to the stock or whatever the last voltage you used for the current overclock is.

The heatsinks are more than enough to wick away the heat for ambient cooling. If you were really pushing your RAM (1.65V - 1.7V+) you would want to watercool them for sure. I'm running my kit a 3800 16-16-16 1T at 1.45V and haven't got or noticed any memory errors.

Score

Any chance you think i can get to 4000 on cine R20 (just for the milestone) or is that completely unrealistic?

Looking on HWBOT you'll need around 4.4GHz on your 3600 to get 4000cb. And that's with 3200MHz - 3333MHz memory.

I could use some help with this!

please, pm me if you would like to contribute to my gpu bios database (includes overclocking bios, stock bios, and upgrades to gpus via modding)

Have you tried looking some up? The q6600 is 13 years old at this point. I'm honestly amazed you're still running one. I had one back in high school and loved it but I sold that thing off a long time ago.

found my dads pc from when i was born, and kept it. Couple of months later, im having some bsods on my main pc, and i go to clean it, and it boots, but i forgot to plug in the graphics card. i power off and forget to turn off the power supply. i plug in the card and it doesn't boot, or give any signs of life. No error lights, no board lights, no video output. so its lucky i have this one.

I could use some help with this!

Thanks for all suggestions, much appreciated. As soon as i get some time over the weekend i'm going to give it a go (in a cautious phased approach, because it's the voltages that always makes me a little nervous) and report results.

Same tbh. I'm less pushy with volts on 7nm than say, the older Intel 22nm and 32nm processes. At least there was plenty of info as to what they would take for ambient benchmarking but it appears (to me anyway) as if AMDs 7nm is still unknown, even a year after release. General consensus is to not exceed a 1.325V when you're manually overclocking. But event that recommendation is chip dependant. Keep and eye on temps too. Max temp is 95C but you'll want to be under that for sure.

3849 on CineR20.

Ryzen 5 3600 All core at 4400 - 1.25v

16Gb Corsair LPX (3000 CL16) OC to 3266 (16-17-18-32) with FCLK at 1633

XFX RX570 8GB - stock

Little disappointed in the score, hoped to be a bit closer to 4000 but...

...super impressed by the temps. Ran multiple tests back-to-back with just quick tweaks via RyzenMaster in between. Never turned HWMonitor off across all these tests and temp never went above 77c, including RyzenMaster stress tests in between the CineR20 tests.

I wish some of them had pushed FCLK. Although one of them is doing 1900. If they do 1900 with a 🅱️550 board I wonder what they could do with a real board?

Haven't had much luck pushing past 1900 tho. Newer 3950Xs are better on the chiplets but not sure on I/O.

Here's something you might not see everyday. I love the headache that is x58 overclocking, if anyone wants to give me tips I'm all ears. Especially RAM settings. I don't want to really go any higher with FSB overclock and I'm worried about thermals

Edit: Should of waited to bring my voltages down a little before I posted, just hit 978 in R15try7.thumb.png.30a03dcbcb6e241f8f9625f085583fd4.png

Our Grace. The Feathered One. He shows us the way. His bob is majestic and shows us the path. Follow unto his guidance and His example. He knows the one true path. Our Saviour. Our Grace. Our Father Birb has taught us with His humble heart and gentle wing the way of the bob. Let us show Him our reverence and follow in His example. The True Path of the Feathered One. ~ Dimboble-dubabob III
