  4. Motherboard is Intel an old one that I can't know what it is

In that case, don't RAID some Sata SSD's, just get a PCI one that plugs strait into this:190_051.jpg

That's a good point, I just didn't even think about it.

I also was just kinda edging towards that although budget isn't his issue... he still might want to buy food and the like sometime in the future :P

go for this since your only gaming and not a pro editor or anything this will be all you need it can play really all games available at 1440p even most in 4k at reasonable fps and especially if ur gaming at 1080p which u shouldnt be a this price point you really dont need an i7 or 1080

It does sound from those specs that you could truly benefit from an overall upgrade.

why have a z170 i doubt he will tinker with the old bioses so he can overclock and i would get a 1070 it smokes the 980ti and for only 30 40 dollars more

there both z170 mostly the same just depends on which one has you like the look of and has more of the features u need
