What Nvidia Graphics cards can utilize Shadowplay at 4k60

I was wondering, before I buy a new Nvidia graphics card, which ones supports the usage of Shadowplay at 4k60.

I was fairly sure that some cards supported 4k capture with Shadowplay. Is 4k60 not a thing that Shadowplay can do?

Not that I know of. The encoder on the cards isn't powerful enough. I believe the highest they go is 1440p @60. My 700 series cards can only go to 1080p @60 or 1440p @30

I don't think even LTT does 4K60. They do 4K30

Yes. But they only seem to go to 1440p @60 as far as I can find. I think 4K @30 is possible, but not 60FPS.

with Pascal it might be possible as it supports 4k at 60hz. Don't know though

The card supports outputting that, but so does my card. The ShadowPlay encoder can't cope with 4k @60 from what I can find.

Have you tried recording with it? I've seen people with the option for 1440p @60 on older cards, even though it doesn't actually record at that frame rate

preferably a 1070 or better if you want playable framerates at 4k 60

I have a 750ti myself and it goes to 1080p60 up to 1440p30 with the option of 1440p60 but doesn't actualy record at 60fps at that res. Being a content creator, I like to get the most out of the games I play, especially since I play at 1440p and sometimes at 4k (DSR) so I was wanting a card that supported Shadowplay at higher resolutions and fps. (Especially since Shadowplay can record higher res with DSR since it's only the output image that is scaled, not the render image)

Thought the Titan X was stuck at 30hz like the 980ti?

Not sure on that. There's not a huge amount of documentation from Nvidia on the available settings.

Just checked with my 750ti, 780, 780ti, 960/70/80/ti, and 1080. The cards that did not support it are the 750ti, 780/ti and the 960 (it shows the option but it didn't want to start the recording) and the others did have the options and did record 4K@60fps. I'm more surprised over how HUGE the files are for a game of Rocket League.

Could have sworn the 900 and 1000 series could. Something like CSGO is no sweat for even a 960 at 2160p at 60fps.

So you are saying that the 970, 980/ti, 1070, and 1080 can record at 4k/4k60?

I should bust out some of the older cards and see if they'll work with Shadowplay.

Yes. I tried them all. I only [have] one or two of each (not a huge sample size by any means) and unless companies can stop Shadowplay it should be good. I'll retest the 960 in 4GB if I ever get one.
