Double RJ-45 from one RJ-45?

Go to solution Solved by Jarsky,

You can only use a splitter if you only want 100Mbit to each device. 100Mbit only uses 4-wires (2 twisted pairs) in the 8-wire ethernet cable - while Gigabit uses all 8 (4 twisted pairs) wires.

As above you'll need a switch.

Is there any way to get from one RJ-45 socket two RJ-45 sockets with fully working internet? Are there any problems with these ways, maybe something can go wrong?

Purify your Windows 10/11, don't give Microsoft anything that you don't want to share.

There are 'splitters,' but dont buy them unless you know what they are. Also, never buy a hub, always buy a switch. Buying a switch instead of a hub will save you from a headache, as a switch knows how to route data. Think of a switch as a valve routing water compared to just a splitter. The valve can choose where the water goes, but the splitter will just send the water to water to everywhere.

TLDR; Buy a switch. Ignore anything that doesn't say switch.

Well, there's a socket on the wall, a splitter connected to it, which separates phone and internet signals. Router DIR-615 (Yes, I know that it is a shitty router. Got headache with it because Wi-Fi always falls down, wanna change it to Asus RT-12N or smth better, but not now, unfortunately.) connected to splitter. Now splitter and PC in one corner, router on another wall in front of them. I forgot to lay second cable through the floor from router to PC, and repair of room is over. Now thinking on crutches, how would programmers call it.

Shortly, I laid only one cable instead of two. Now I need to get internet on my PC. Now I'm writing from my laptop.

Thanks, worked with similar thing. Got it in one 8-wired cable, two RJ-45 on each end. Fits perfectly for home.
