I have Flight Unlimited III (1999) running on windows 10, which is nice but the top resolution is 768p 4:3 which makes my PC have a heart attack whenever I use it.

I edit my posts a lot.

Pentium 3 should in theory run Windows 7, so get that.

Windows 7 is good and can run many old applications. Also get a good PCI GPU such as the GT 610 and you are rockin'.

Athlon X2 for only 27.31$   Best part lists at different price points   Windows 1.01 running natively on an Eee PC

My rig:

Spoiler

Celeronator (new main rig)

CPU: Intel Celeron (duh) N2840 2.16GHz Dual Core

RAM: 4GB DDR3 1333MHz

HDD: Seagate 500GB

GPU: Intel HD Graphics 3000 Series

Spoiler

Frankenhertz (ex main rig)

CPU: Intel Atom N2600 1.6GHz Dual Core

RAM: 1GB DDR3-800

HDD: HGST 320GB

GPU: Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) 3600

It has PCI versions but they are rare.

Actually there is a good PCI graphics card. It's an Nvidia Quadro NVS 280. Although it has only 64MB of frame buffer it is more than enough for FS98.
