Faster BOOT for SSD (what Settings)

Hey again,

 

I only wanted to ask how I can skip this damn annoying POST Screen my BIOS makes when booting, because it makes my PC boot very slow. If this POST wouldn`t show up, I would be able to boot in 2secs.

Any way to fix this?

You can't skip the POST, it's the part of startup that tests to make sure everything is working. You might be able to shorten it by choosing fast POST in your BIOS but you can't get rid of it completely.

Instead of turning it off, put it to sleep.

I heard its not good to put it to sleep instead of turning it off. The data that will be read is big which should not be good for the SSD. 

I'm new at SSD things, I don't know anything about them. Correct me if what i quoted was wrong :D

If you're running Win 8 or 10 there should be a rapid boot BIOS setting that you can enable. The problem with that is it can be very hard to get into the BIOS or boot menu after that since it's just too fast to hit DEL (I remember when win 8 first came out when I worked as a tech at a retail store I hated the rapid boot feature that was always enabled on new laptops, I could never get to safe mode/recovery menu without booting to Windows first, which didn't help me when Windows was broken). There should be another setting that allows you to have the board boot to BIOS if you hold the power button down for 4 seconds on boot, I'd recommend enabling that if you want to use the rapid boot.

Having issues with a Corsair AIO? Possible fix here:

Are you getting weird fan behavior, speed fluctuations, and/or other issues with Link?

Are you running AIDA64, HWinfo, CAM, or HWmonitor? (ASUS suite & other monitoring software often have the same issue.)

Corsair Link has problems with some monitoring software so you may have to change some settings to get them to work smoothly.

-For AIDA64: First make sure you have the newest update installed, then, go to Preferences>Stability and make sure the "Corsair Link sensor support" box is checked and make sure the "Asetek LC sensor support" box is UNchecked.

-For HWinfo: manually disable all monitoring of the AIO sensors/components.

-For others: Disable any monitoring of Corsair AIO sensors.

That should fix the fan issue for some Corsair AIOs (H80i GT/v2, H110i GTX/H115i, H100i GTX and others made by Asetek). The problem is bad coding in Link that fights for AIO control with other programs. You can test if this worked by setting the fan speed in Link to 100%, if it doesn't fluctuate you are set and can change the curve to whatever. If that doesn't work or you're still having other issues then you probably still have a monitoring software interfering with the AIO/Link communications, find what it is and disable it.
