Clean install didn't change OEM boot animation

Go to solution Solved by vanished,

This is due to BIOS (UEFI) / Windows hybridization stuff.  They've baked it in, like a BIOS splash screen basically.

So I performed a clean install of Windows 10 on my Dell laptop. Oddly enough, the boot animation still shows the Dell logo. I thought that this should be replaced by the Windows 10 logo(?)

Sometimes they do allow you control it, though. May be labeled under splash screeen/fast boot or something similar.

This

Even my desktop has an MSI splash screen (and no actual way of changing it past messing with the UEFI and forcing a fake update)

did you do the clean install with windows the windows backup thingy? because some manufacturers mod that so their Bloatware stays on your pc. same thing with the upgrade to Windows 10 clean install option.

the only way to really do a clean install is boot of an usb stick, remove all partitions and then install.

if that is not working its the bios.

Yes, I destroyed all partitions and installed on a single unallocated space drive.

Why don't we just call it POST screen laptop style? Its basicly same thing. And since rare consumer laptop lets you play around in BIOS, you are stuck with it.

I don't know whats the fuss. I had it all the time on my old laptop, even when it was running Ubuntu.
