The funniest thing to me is that AMD actually bought a GTX 1080 to run those tests. They were like Nvidia I know we're competitors but can we have one? Pretty please?

NDA is lifted 29th of June I think? Somewhere close to that. So we can expect reviews to be out exactly by then.

He said $500, so I'm guessing that means 8GB RX 480 is $250. They better have more benches, because Ashes is by far the best case performer for AMD. If he's only showing Ashes this is going to be a disappointing card. Crap, I was excited over R9 390x for $199.

Well, considering the card's compute performance I find it hard to believe it won't at least tie the 390x. But if it doesn't I will be pissed, I want to play red this time around.

I don't think promoting dual mid range cards is the best idea.  This range GPU is where I look when it is time to buy.  I don't need more and certainly don't intend on buying two.  I would pay a 15% premium for a single card solution if I wanted more performance, or take a 15% performance hit.

 

I want to see the 480 in reviewers hands more now.

The market has a hole in it. There's the RX 480 at $200 (probably more for the 8GB version) and the GTX 1070 for $380. The only product I can imagine being in the middle is a GP104-based 1060 Ti that cost $280-300.

So, 390/970 to 390X/980 is gone now... not worth paying full price...  even the 960/380 is gone.
