Keep fans running 24/7 even while PC is off?

DeadlyPilot
Go to solution Solved by 0x1e,

When my PC is off I put a piece of cloth over the top to cover the fans.

This will stop all the dust getting in when it's off.

Dust filters don't stop all the dust getting into the case, even if it's the only intakes and you have plenty of positive air pressure. Very fine dust will still make its way in.

Is there an easy way to do this? Lets say I don't want my PC running 24/7 but I want my fans always running even when I turn my PC off. I don't want to have to clean my PC all the time and my house is full of dust. Also, my case has all kinds of ways for dust to easily get in. Keeping a positive airflow in my case (along with intake filters) would prevent dust from building up correct?

I just keep my PC on all the time tbh. You could connect your fans up through molex but then they're on 100% full time.

you'll still get dust even if you have positive airflow lol

having air flow in your system while it's off will only accumulate more dust inside than if you kept the fans off

also, invest in a fan filter perhaps

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately

filters and positive air pressure. Having fans always on will only build up more dust...

It's not a race to the bottom.
