Head Mounted Display (HMD) to replace a monitor

Hello,  

 

So the question is, aside from the Rift or Vive. Is there a HMD that I can buy today to replace or act as a second monitor for PC? I don't care about head tracking (thou it would be nice)  or other things. I just want to be able to plug it into my PC and get a large virtual desktop/gaming screen that my GPU in my PC does all the heavy lifting. Oh and not costing an arm or a leg is good to.
