Nikon D3300 DSLR Camera

Hello everyone,

 

Me and my family are in need of a new camera, this camera will be used basically anywhere we go (different countries, mountain hiking, beaches, parks, new years eve ect). My family has a really old panasonic video camera which is starting to break. We have an iphone and ipad however I keep on telling my parents that we need a proper camera to take good quality pictures, and so I am on a hunt to find one. I want to be able to take quality photos as well as shoot video at 60fps which I know this camera can. Autofocus and all of that.

 

So right now I was looking at a camera, the Nikon D3300 DSLR Camera in Currys (United Kingdom) for about £300. However what I am really confused about is that there are two cameras which are the same but different prices. One is £299.99 and the other one is £319.99. 

 

I do not know what are the differences, so it would be appreciated if you could tell me what they are and which one is better to go for.

Looks like the one that's a bit more expensive has a lens with VR.

Go with the one that has VR, which is Nikon's way of saying image stabilization.

Have you considered the D3200? Cheaper but basically same functionality

You do realize that the quality of photos depends on the person behind the camera and NOT the camera?

 

There are tons of great looking photos taken with phone cameras, just as there are tons of shitty photos taken with expensive DSLRs.

 

EDIT: If I were in your shoes, I wouldn't be sharing any of those photos.
