Hello I decided to get one of those fast NVMe drives for my new skylake build. I am using an Maximus VIII ranger motherboard which fully supports tose drives. Samsung currently offers the best drive cosidering their prices and speeds. I decided for a 256 GB drive and I am wondering which one to get. I do not care for its clor or being an OEM drive. SM951 offers even slightly better speds and is priced at 150 eur while 950 PRO is 200 eur. Basicly what is the main difference in those two drives ? Is 950 simply better made to last longer somehow or it is just a bit more fancy looking . I do not mind getting 950 pro but onlyif I know something is actualy worth a 50 eur more on it.

the 950 PRO's advantages are:

1) it is a "retail" unit so you have warranty support from samsung direct. The 951 is "OEM" unit, and your warranty is only from the vendor. The 950 PRO's warranty is 5 yrs vs the 3 yrs for the SM951 i've seen the vendors quoting.

2) as a retail unit, samsung provides the necessary driver for NVMe use with win 7, 8.1 & 10

3) the 950 has newer tech, ie V-Nand
