ok, so I asked this question before, but Windows movie maker no longer works for me and removing it and reinstalling it does not fix the issue and windows has to shut it down. I need a replacement free video editor that offers the same basic things that Windows Movie maker did. I tried Davinci Black magic resolve but it does not work either because it cant active the Quick Time decoders which it needs to use any type of video file. So its useless. Any other options?

Getting into morally questionable territory here; but perhaps try pirating Sony Vegas? I used it for ages and its excellent.

As well as that there is the Adobe suite but that has got considerably more challenging to pirate over past few months.

i would use sony vegas pro. it does have a quite hefty price tag but is definitely worth it

I could buy a GTX 1080 for the price of a damn piece of software. Its not worth it.

It was quite some time ago and I've used Final Cut on a Macbook since then, I can't really remember. It wasn't a challenge though.
