I want to find a computer case but when I gonon PC part picker my mother board doesn't have a USB 3.0 but the case does... Is this a problem or just a waste of a USB port?

You wont be able to use the usb ports on your case

There are many cases out there that do support USB 2.0 assuming your motherboard has that.  They tend to be cheaper because of USB 2.0.

 

To get the 3.0 only cases filtered out, just push the "No" for USB 3.0:

 

Front Panel USB 3.0

• All
• Yes
• No

That would filter out ALL USB 3.0 cases.  There are a lot that have both generations of ports.

You need at least 1 USB 3.0 header on your motherboad to use 2 usb 3.0 in your case. If you cant afford a motherboard that has usb 3.0, I recommened just getting a case that only supports USB 2.0. Hope this helps:)

you can use a USB 3.0 to USB 2.0 conversion adapter to at least make the USB ports on the case quasi-functional.

But what about I just dont use the front pannel usb ports? And cant just usb flash drives be instrted ftom the back?
