I am very well aware of what these phone excel at and where they sparkle before my eyes. In features/performance wise, S6 wins. I do not use SD card slot. Removeable back is a good feature but I never found myself swapping out batteries.

Here is why I prefer S6 over G4:-

-Screen being AMOLED

-Exynos Octa core processor

-Camera( 60FPS 1080P video with higher bitrate)

-Beautiful design

-Fingerprint scanner

-Better UI(unlike very cartoonist UI found in G4)

Here is why I prefer G4 Over S6:-

-5.5 inch display(Overall having more dimensions)

-Removeable back(Probably I might use it?)

- ???

This thread is opened with the intentions to get in touch with owners of the stated phones above. I am more opened to listen to find of each devices more than pros.

Here are my few question regarding G4:-

-Does it overheats like G3?

-Does it have a good battery? Can it last 4 hours with continuous browsing?

-Does it lags?

-Does it have any touch registering problems?

Few questions regarding S6:-

-Does it battery sucks compared to G4?

-Does it over heats?

-Does it have touch registering issues?

-Does it have Wi-Fi/bluetooth issue?

I expect to seek professional help before I head out to market right now. Please refrain from any sorts of bias opinions. Thank you!

Overhearing shouldn't be a issue for either phones. Touch registering issues don't really exist today, but lag does. For battery life, G4 is the clear winner, since it has removable battery, and S6 battery is terrible unless you use it rarely.

I own the S6, the only problem I'm frustrated about is the battery life. It only lasts around 3 hours per day, which is bad. My recommendation is to go for 2016 phones, since they're really good, but the only drawback is the price. Buying a newer phone is always worth it, since it will last longer.

If you don't need a newer phone, I'd go for the G4, and a leather back, unless your fine with plastic. I've had a S3 before, but I've never actually replaced the battery, ever. I just didn't have a need to, and when it died, I just let it die. So make sure your daily usage exceeds the battery capacity of the phone before considering removable battery, since removable battery results to significantly less premium design. There is the LG G5, but the metal feels like plastic, so in my opinion, the design choice is a failure.

S6 is also a great phone too, if you can overcome it's terrible battery life. Features on the S6 such as fingerprint scanners are convenient, but someone can still cut off your finger and unlock your phone (or just make a copy of your fingerprint). Honestly though, the marshmallow update introduced too many bugs than expected, so if you want the S6, be aware of these bugs (Note: I have Canadian Telus Galaxy S6). It's been almost a month, and I've seen no updates whatsoever.

I have an S6 Active and I get almost 2 days out of a single charge. Right now my phone has been on battery for 4 hours and 43 minutes and it's at 92% with an estimated 34 hours and 36 minutes left and that's on WIFI and with listening to Spotify off and on and watching a few YouTube videos. There have been plenty of times where I didn't charge my phone at night and used my phone for two days straight at work (10 hour shifts) and still had plenty of charge to play Spotify or stream podcasts when I got home. Since having the phone I've never had to rush to charge it be it at work, home, or on the road which is really nice.

I have the S6 as a work phone. There is no problem with heat. I even run BOINC on it. Battery life has improved with the latest Android version, but this is more about less wastage when you're not using it, than using less power when you are. Before the update, it would be about 50/50 if it would last a weekend (as a work phone I don't charge it at home). With latest, it easily makes it through the weekend with plenty left.

If you can get the S7 edge. You get the AMOLED screen, Exynos 8890 (IF YOU BUY THE FACTORY UNLOCKED, Snapdragon 820 otherwise), a brilliant camera, slightly better design, and the fingerprint scanner from the S6. You also get the 5.5 in screen from the G4. No removable battery unfortunately, but I've seen the phone charge from dead to 100% in 90 minutes.

The battery on the S7's a hell of a lot better, and the battery on the S6 isn't very good.

Proof for the charging

If you can't get the S7, get the S6 Edge Plus. If it's REALLY REALLY S6 vs G4, go S6 but be sure you carry a battery bank around with you at all times

If your S6 lasts 3 hours continuous use then I think it's pretty normal for me since moving from G3 I get to face this problem everyday. I can get G4 for $250(leather back) USD and S6 for $330(for 32 GB and $350 for 64GB) USD. They are not refurbished or used, my friend runs a small business of mobile phones. He is offering me those phones at the price. The reason why I can not move to 2016 flagship is because I do not want to spend tons of money. I always wait a year or two before buying a new phone. If S6 comes with a lot of bugs in marshmallow, what about lollipop?

I believe that 'premium' feel you get is not worth it. I always out on back covers.

Specifications wise, S6 active rules but I just do not like the way it looks. This is the only reason why I am staying away from active.

I do not have that much budget to buy any 2016 flagship.

The battery life really depends on the person, but it's just that all the reviews I've seen criticized the battery life of the S6. It's recommended to keep your phone up to date, but if the phone came out of the box with marshmallow, it's not easy downgrading.

If your putting on a case (or back cover if you call it that way), then premium feel does become almost pointless, but it's just my personal opinion.

At the battery life section,S6 wins . I really just don't get it. I have went through numerous blogs and bodies but none of them paid much attention on the battery life.

What I'm talking about is screen on time. S6 only has around 3 hours of screen on time. Also, blogs and YouTube reviews can differ greatly. (I usually watch reviews on YouTube, rather than blogs)

You can't get the phone subsidized by a carrier? The s7 should cost 28-ish dollars for 2 years
