Has humanity really come down to this? (National 5 Maths Petitions...)

https://www.change.org/p/scottish-qualification-explanation-as-to-why-the-national-5-maths-paper-1-was-so-unusual-and-difficult --15k signitures

https://www.change.org/p/sqa-national-5-maths-exam-appeal/c --4,500 signatures

So basically, students (i.e. my peers) are complaining about how incredibly hard paper 1 was (paper 1 is a non-cal paper and paper 2 is a cal paper)with some finding paper 2 hard as well.

All I can say is this is stupid (coming from a person who doesn't do any revision) as it's obvious that you've not prepared properly if you can't answer some questions from the course you've been studying for 2 damn years. The SQA have done nothing wrong as the questions were all be expected as everything that was in the paper was in the course that the teachers taught us. If you couldn't do paper 2 then go back to primary school (sorry for the insults) and for paper 1, stop playing video games and go revise :D. This is ovbiously my opinion with everyone I've talked to did find paper 1 some what challenging but not hard and paper 2 being the easiest test they've ever done (which I agree with :))

I want to keep ranting but let's end this thread with this funny comment xD

Google for this petition and I find a post about it on my favourite YouTuber's forum - small world...

I'm sitting my highers this year and I went through the, thankfully easier, higher maths paper yesterday but also the higher English exam which has a petition too. These petitions annoy me because the papers haven't even been that hard. This years higher English was the easiest English paper I've ever sat, that's including prelims, past papers, Nat 5 exam - it was so simple - yet these kids are so lazy and inable to push themselves to get an education that they give up and whine on the internet because a maths paper last year got lowered (even though that one was actually hard).

It also means that if I perhaps have an unfair Chemistry Higher paper that the SQA are less likely to listen to any petition...

Indeed, I'm only ranting as I sat the exam yesterday and paper one was different from all the other papers before (mind you, there's only 2 PP for nat 5...) but it wasn't unfair or too difficult as everything that was in the paper was stuff we learn't over the 2 year course (more actually, probably since p6/7 so 5 years maybe as we started learning some stuff in primary :P).

Wow. I seriously doubt that the national paper would be set at a "rediculous" standard.

10 bucks says that these idiots either bunked classes or were too busy updating their facebook feed to listen and study, so theyre feelig the pressure now and throwing a true 21st century fit.

Well everyone in my school found it to be acceptable...maybe it's because the prelim we had was about 10 times harder so we were all expecting something as hard as our prelims...

Odds are its a combonation of lazy students and sub-par teachers. Still sad that it came this far. Somehow this reminds me of tumblrinas, but I cant quite put my finger on it.

yeah. Its amazing how people can fail a test for completely and then be outraged about it. If you were a lazy shit take it on the chin.

Exactly, the petitions are pointless, if the teachers found the test hard then come on, teach the teachers how to teach the course.
