Well there you go :)
Think about a NAS in that case where you could store common data between the Ultra and the PC

I received this friday my acceptance letter for computer engineering at Waterloo University, which is a coop program. Hence, each semester, I'll switch between work and university. I will travel a lot. Since I currently live in Montreal, I am going to move to a residence. I was wondering whether I am going to have to sell my pc and get a laptop espcially since I'm going to move a lot, or if I keep my pc and when I move for work, if I should just deal with the hassle of moving my gaming pc. A third option is to leave my pc at my parent's house. They can always find a use for it. I would have opted to take my PC with me in a heartbeat since I have all of my very legal version of games that I bvought at a discounted price on ThePirateBay, as well as all my movies, TV shows, Anime (1TB of anime). I have so many things. Another thing that I was thinking I could do, was to take my hdd, my ssds and get a raid box or nas (althought I'm no expert in this and I don't know how well it'll work since I have a raid array). As for a laptop alternative, I didn't think much of it so I only have two options now: The new razeblade 2016 or razer stealth+core combo + my current gpu. I really like the razer stealth, its design, its mass, its looks, its portability compared to the new razerblade. But when I look at the price difference, it's much less of a hassle to get the razerblade, without the need of an external gpu and I can game wherever I want. Furthermore, with the razer stealth and core combo, I'll have to deal again with the hassle of moving the external gpu enclosure. Overall, the new razerblade seems like the better of the options. But I don't really want to part ways with my dear pc. what do you guys think? what's your opinion? what should I do? Thank you!

Up to you, I would bring my PC but if that will be difficult, rip out the HDD's and get some cheap powered enclosures and stick them in the blade you wanted to get.

id say get a laptop, depending on waht you need it for you can get a cheap used one so you dont need to sell your desktop, unless you have absolutely no room to spend $200-$300

No I can afford to spend. I probably won't have enough to get a high end lapotop like the new razer blade right off the bat but I can definitely get a razer stealth

you can or cant? if you can id say look around for cheap laptops you can afford without selling and see if they will do what you need it to do, otherwise sometimes you have to make sacrifices in life

it's just that at Waterloo uni the coop program makes us work 6 times for a total of 24 months. Furthermore, the tables are small and there is a carpet. isn't moving a pc, well, not good?

Moving a computer is fine as long as it is completely off. the HDD's may break if you move them while on. other than that moving computers is fine.

That's what I thought of doing at first but aftyer watching linus' video I was actually wondering if I can't get an ultrabook for cheaper and has the same performance.

I have GDrive account. isn't it more practical? If not, can you please explain the advantages of a nas? can I stream wirelessly files to a nas and/or froim a nas to computer? this would be perfect if I can do it if it's on the same network. I could access my important data from my ultrabook anywhere from the university

GDrive is great but because it is actually accessing the internet the data transfer speeds will be much lower. Putting a NAS onto the university internet will allow you to access it anywhere on campus at better transfer rates. You may have to talk to the Uni IT department about permissions and whatnot because I can't be sure what sort of system they have set up.

Sounds great though

Completely up to you, at this point it comes down to personal preference with brands. Razer have nice products but so do HP and Dell ETC. Personal choice would be either the XPS 13 or the Asus Zenbook UX305. Take a look around though because I don't keep up-to-date on laptops xD

I don't keep up to date with laptops which is one of the reasons I was asking :S but never mind. I'll check xps 13 and ux305 as well
