Which motherboard?

Hi I am building my first pc. I am going with a skylake cpu and then need to use a motherboard that works with the skylake series. I want the motherboard to featurws like overclocking and it need to work with ddr4 ram. I thought about a asus maximus VIII hero motherboard but its very expensive. Do you have some ideas for me please help me out.

The Maximus VIII Hero is a very good board. The two options below that in the Asus gaming line, the Ranger and the Pro Gaming are also good boards. The Pro Gaming is the better buy, imo, as the Ranger offers almost nothing that the Pro Gaming does not already have -- and the Pro Gaming ATX is significantly cheaper than the Ranger.

 

If you have the money, the VIII Hero is a very good motherboard in the sub $200 range. If it's price/performance you want, go with the Asus Pro Gaming. In both cases, I would be inclined to skip the ROG Ranger.
