Is there a way to fix a microUSB cable that's bent and loose on the end? (picture attached).

You can try to gently bend it back but that can potentially make it worst, not much that can be done other than replace it.

Yeah, not much.

At least it's better than having the port break...

Try bending up slowly with your fingers first then pliers. If you manage to bend straight check to see if all the connection tabs are intact and still fights in the tab on your device.

These USB cables that come with phones aren't as high-end as the adapters, mainly to save tons of money. (Especially companies like Apple where they make cheap stuff overpriced af) This actually did happen to me one day, and I attempted to fix it, but because it is cheap, I just bought another one. Not really worth the time or money to fix such cheap cables. Just make sure you don't buy them from places like the dollar store, because they're literally garbage.

That happened to me before, and I was lucky the port didn't break. I didn't bother with it, I just bought a new cable. I also would recommend some Anker Powerline cables, as they are very high quality and not too expensive. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B015MJLEUS/ref=s9_simh_gw_g107_i1_r?ie=UTF8&fpl=fresh&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=desktop-4&pf_rd_r=1KD0GARYQDM72BJ71J59&pf_rd_t=36701&pf_rd_p=2437869522&pf_rd_i=desktop
