After months of saving, I'm planning to buy a Cloud 2.

PLEASE DO NOT TALK SHIT ABOUT THE CLOUD 2.

I ALREADY KNOW THAT THE USB 7.1 CARD IS SHIT BUT IT ONLY COSTS APPROXIMATELY 5 MORE DOLLARS SO WHAT THE HELL

ALSO EITHER THIS GREY CLOUD 2 OR A BLACK/RED CLOUD 1. SO YEAH, COLOR IS IMPORTANT.

Moving on,

Does anybody have tips for using the Cloud 2?

(e.g. first things first, download latest firmware etc. etc., disable this disable that)

well, original cloud here, but i discovered something today...

appareantly on-board audio does NOT like GPU's, if you encounter noise on your microphone, try to add shielding between the GPU and audio area.

The Cloud 2 is fine, the issue a lot of us have is it's not $5 more... It's $30 more, dunno where $5 came from.

That said, Kingston has been good about sending out replacement units in the event of failure.

yea it's on discount on my side. hence the "$5".

I'm using it now, looks like it being closed-back takes some getting used to.

I come from an "average" open-back headphones (Philips SHP2700)

See, I have different headphones for different purposes or of course if I am in the mood for a certain signature. Such as my primary set of Mrspeakers AlphaDogs are my main listening set as of right now, I am a huge fan of what they offer for a closed headphone, and hell even using in FPS games surprises me the amount of detail you can get with positioning, however, I dedicate my DT990's to games thanks to their open design. No idea why, but I like some bass in the headphones when I'm traveling, so I have the V-Moda M-100 for that.
