My display isn't scaling properly when connected to my tv

I connected my PC via hdmi into my receiver connected to my TV. Everything is set properly to 1080p but none of it is scaled properly to fit my screen. It looks like it's zoomed in, I can't see my task bar and some of my left and rest side of my desktop. What should I do?

Sometimes my graphics card has done funny things with scaling, had to go through the settings and find the option to change it. for amd cards in radeon settings display tab>additional settings>under "my digital flat-panels" scaling options.

You have to go into your driver for your gpu and find something that says "Scaling options" and mess around with that.

It has nothing to do with the computer or driver settings. It's a setting on the TV which is enabled by default, you need to go into the TV menu and look around for "scan settings" or "zoom" or something like that. They call it different things on every TV.

I had set my TV to a "Fit" or "16:9" setting and it still didn't scale properly, in my case I still had to mess with CCC to get the screen right.

Yes unfortunately some TVs do not even have an option to display the image without zoom or stretch applied. TVs are a bit dumb like that. Normally the 16:9 and fit options will zoom in, though it depends on the TV. The setting you want is usually called something like "just scan" or "dot-by-dot" or "1:1".

Shame they don't universally have smart HDMI settings out of the box.

Indeed. Display standards are a mess almost across the board unfortunately.

Yeah I remember seeing a setting similar to 1.1 so I will check it out when I get home, thanks
