how do you like the 5775c.. im tempted if i can find a used one, but yeah...

Its fine since its basically a weaker version of the 4760k but has better integrated graphics which I guess are close to a gtx 650. I have seen alot of people overclock it to 4.5 or more ghz but I have not tried any overclocking myself.

you mean 4779/4790k since the 5775c is an i7

I hear it is a hit or a miss with OC, even with the IPC improvement, couldn't out perform the 4790k when max OCed (depending on OC)

You should try I hear very conflicting reports on overclocking.

Why did you go with the 5775c if i may ask?

Silverstone FT-05: 8 Broadwell Xeon (6900k soon), Asus X99 A, Asus GTX 1070, 1tb Samsung 850 pro, NH-D15

Woops yeah that, I decided to go for it since it was supposed to be a bridge cpu and for the fact I was trying to save money since I didn't have a gpu at the time and couldnt afford both so I went for it, But if you do have the money for a gpu go for the 4790k if you want to use 1150 and overclock easier.

Yeah that is what I was going to do with my HTPC/lan, but managed to get a 4770 and a 650ti for a crazy good deal.

What upgrades do you have in mind for the future?

I plan on either getting another 960 for SLI or just flat out upgrading the GPU in general to something like a 970 or something from the next generation. I also plan on upgrading to skylake eventually with a 6700k.

Finally swapped cases to something I feel looks more clean and aesthetically pleasing. I need to pick up some combs to train my sleeved gpu cable. If anyone has any criticisms feel free to share I want to continue advancing this rig.

I know a set of custom sleeved cables can get expensive but you might want to pick up at least the 24 pin to match your gpu cables
