hey guys, so I just bought a new laptop and am in a slightly odd situation, I live in Israel, but I had it shipped to my family in the US so that I could then get it shipped here cheaper (not what this is about).  What this topic is actually about is asking you guys what tests I should have my brother run on the laptop before they ship it here, I am already having him check for dead pixels since there is a 30 day guarantee on the monitor, but I was wondering if there was anything else I should have him run.  He isn't particularly computer literate so it should be user friendly.

If you want stability tests and a computer illiterate person is performing them, you're not really going to have a good time.

As for basic stuff, test all USB ports. Test all display ports they can test. Test the DVD drive if any. Test the wifi, test the ethernet. Etc etc.

I have finally moved to a desktop. Also my guides are outdated as hell.

I would do tests like:

Prime95 (system stabillity)

Memtest86+ (memory errors)

CHKDSK (disk errors)

Passmark PerformanceTest (for overall system)

Athlon X2 for only 27.31$   Best part lists at different price points   Windows 1.01 running natively on an Eee PC

My rig:

Spoiler

Celeronator (new main rig)

CPU: Intel Celeron (duh) N2840 2.16GHz Dual Core

RAM: 4GB DDR3 1333MHz

HDD: Seagate 500GB

GPU: Intel HD Graphics 3000 Series

Spoiler

Frankenhertz (ex main rig)

CPU: Intel Atom N2600 1.6GHz Dual Core

RAM: 1GB DDR3-800

HDD: HGST 320GB

GPU: Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) 3600

change this for aida64... though might be a bad idea too

but way better than p95

Oh yeah, P95 iz gonna kill dat battery...

I think it's best to do a PerformanceTest, since it's kinda battery friendly, and then do CHKDSK and Memtest86+.
