So I've been trying to use the 598s I just got and they're really tight around my head. I was surprised since everyone screams "comfort" about them, but I guess it's because of my somewhat thick-framed glasses.

I bought the vmoda Boom Pro mic in hopes of being able to hook it up with a 2.5-3.5mm adapter, but they're UNGODLY difficult to find thin enough to work with the 598s.

My main question is; would it be worth it to keep them and try to stretch them out and hope that in time they wear in, or should I just return them while there's time and try another headset with similar sound?

Currently looking at the AD700x's or possibly the SHP9550s

I know I "might", but it'll be too late to send them back by then

Then just refund it. at least bad comfort is a deal breaker to me, no matter how good the sound quality. It's is a unenjoyable experience.

How long have you had them? You usually have a month to return them

I'd personally wait it out, almost everytime I switch headphones they bother me for a week or so and then they feel fine :)

Not long at all, but I'm thinking since people already say they're the most comfortable headphones they've ever worn and I Already don't like them that they won't get any better. Do you think stretching them out a bit on a pillow tonight would be good? Pretty sure I have 30 days with Amazon to return.

If I do end up returning, think the 700xs are gonna be more comfortable? I don't mind doing that rubber band mod either, not fussy about  getting ghetto with them

You can try, but usually just wearing them works fine :P Everyone says my headphones are super comfortable, but the first few days I couldn't feel my ears... But now I would have to agree they're super comfy :D

maybe, I prefer standard design over suspension but it seems to vary person to person ^_^

I don't personally think they are all that comfortable. I have a pretty big head and the clamping force is higher than I would ideally like for a headphone that doesn't need a seal and wouldn't get one based on the material that actually touches you. I also find the pads are just a little bit too small for my ears and they typically are touching some part of them just slowly causing discomfort. I have had mine for many years and nothing has changed, they fit like they did when I got them.

I don't know if another set of headphones would be more comfortable but if you don't like them then just replace them, don't expect for these to some how magically change to your head because they never will. I like the sound signature especially when driven off a Magni amp but I don't personally rate the comfort of them.
