So I recently bought a laptop that Linus himself reviewed which you can find here:

I found a few issues with it unfortunately, ones that Linus didn't find so I am guessing it's something wrong with mine only. I have already taken it back to the store once but that didn't fix anything, so I am hoping I could get some help here and maybe even fix it on my own. First problem is that the damn thing won't boot up fast enough and it does this weird thing when 'waking up', I have the exact same variant as linus had so you can find the specs in that video but I'll list them here anyways. Mine has an i5 6300hq, a gtx 960M, 8gb of RAM, and a 7200 RPM HDD. I will leave a video below of the problem I am facing.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=arf4t7GnZuw&feature=youtu.be

I am facing another problem too, I have watched gameplay videos online and found that GTA V ran at 60 fps + as shown in this video but my laptop doesn't run the game as fast even though I checked that they have the same variant and settings. I also found that there is a lot of latency when I do anything really, meaning it takes a while for it to open up pages, to scroll down pages. In short is basically slow. I checked to make sure the sales guy didn't rip us off by somehow putting in the wrong hardware but that's not the case.

I suspect he didn't set the laptop up properly, please help me! Thanks in advance.

as for your problem, does it occur when you leave it closed for longer?

some laptops - especially when running off a HDD - take a considerable amount of time to go into sleep mode, and tend to act up when the lid opens again too quickly. my samsung laptop even tends to completely lock up when i do so.

A Dell update Video driver for the 980M 840M, blah blah blah

uninstall your current gpu driver using DDU and install 361.91 from nvidia

make sure you get the right version for your OS `-`

edit: 6000th post, i cant believe i used it on telling people to fix an nvidia driver... no suprise though

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately

Did you enable fast boot? Do you not have a SSD? Maybe consider getting one.

How do I check that? And would an SSD really stop an issue like that, I have a pc with a 5400RPM (may be mistaken, but its in the 5k rpm category) HDD and that doesn't happen when I put the pc to sleep and wake it back up, its up and running in a matter of seconds.

I left it like that for a few days and that still happens, I have experimented with that so many times leaving it for a full hour after pressing the power button and then closing it, waiting for another hour and then opening it, same thing still happens.

The guy at the store did that already, I'll ask him for the window's key next time so I can do it myself. I don't trust him :/

geforce experience

but the latest drivers are crap too, thats why i specifically told you to use 361.91, or anything from 361.xx to 362.xx

That's pretty optimistic.

It's ok actually, I just fixed it, I am not sure what did it but I'll mention what I did for anyone that may come across the same problem, I did a few things which may have fixed it, it turned out that the 960M's driver was updated, but I didn't bother checking the intel HD graphics driver which was in fact out of date. What I also did was changed the physX gpu from intel hd graphics to the 960M, I doubt that that fixed it but I don't know, could be wrong. Other than that I don't think I did anything important but I would recommend this page(http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/19/product-support/ServiceTag/DP09962/drivers) as I read it could help anyone with performance issues related to the Dell Inspiron 7559. Thanks everyone for all the help :D!, Really love the community and the amount of effort everyone puts into helping each other. One question tho, I found some light bleed on the bottom left corner of the screen in two places, can I do anything about it? Dell features a year of in home service, could I actually get a replacement for a problem like this, it pretty noticeable when the brightness is turned all the way up, a 16th to an 8th of the screen is a little yellowish when the screen is displaying a fully black image. Thanks again :D
