Build-Off Week 11: Corsair + Asus [Brand-Themed Build]

Welcome to Week 11 of the LTT Build-Off! The rules and guidelines can be found here.

This week's challenge is to make a partlist composed of as many Corsair and Asus branded parts as possible. The budget is $1,000. The Build-Offs are not affiliated with or sponsored by any companies or brands.

The contest will run from Saturday September 21st to Thursday September 26th, with the 24th, 25th, and 26th reserved for voting.

(Sorry about the delays with the last contest and this one--homework is the killer of free time).

I have chosen the parts that I did because they are high quality, all of which (except the processor) are from either Corsair or Asus and because they all work well together. The case, while not being the most expensive in the world, screams quality. The PSU is 80 Plus Bronze. The graphics card is pretty powerful, the processor/motherboard/cooling combo allows for tuning and overclocking and the RAM is solid. The monitor is a nice ASUS 1080P panel. It is of an adequate size and is very sharp. And finally the SSD. I wanted an SSD because for $1000, why not?

Replace H60's stock and case fans. Just remove them--no need.

SP120 for H60 in back of the case for pull exhaust. 2 AF140's for front intake.

Had to use this case, screw the price! If it's a corsair/asus build - you better take a beauty off the cases they make.

Place the 2 AF120, in the front intake. The SP120 on the H60. Then place the 2 front intake at the top as exhaust.

With the blue rings on them!

My first time entering. Kind of ran out of money at the end, for the monitor. Should perform nicely, even if it is mismatched. It'll look good in the 350D too. Good quality components.

CPU: Best bang for buck CPU imo

CPU Cooler: Corsair H60 with SP120 Performance Edition fan replacement

Motherboard: ASUS 990FX chipset and Fan Xpert for temperature sensative dynamic fan control

RAM: Corsair 2x4GB DDR3-1600.  Blue color matches ASUS mobo heatsinks.  2 sticks leaves room for expansion.

SSD: Corsair Neutron 128GB SSD for OS and some games

GPU: ASUS GeForce GTX 760 for performance easily over 60fps at 1080p out of the box while being whisper quiet and cool

Case: Corsair 300R Windowed...has a window to show off the build

PSU: Corsair 500W semi modular.  Has enough juice for a second GTX 760 (ignore Nvidia's recommendation folks!), which is the max that the motherboard supports anyways

Monitor: ASUS 1920x1080 5ms IPS monitor

10 parts total

3 ASUS parts

6 Corsair parts

90% Corsair + ASUS.  The only part non-brand-themed was the CPU, which can't come from either.
