Spoiler

1) if you're relying on just the cpu, you'll need a beefier one than a low powered one

2) changed the ram to dual channel, although this will limit your expansion because your motherboard only supports 2 dimms, but if you're going to use iGPU then you'll want dual channel ram bandwidth

3) swapped the hard disk to an SSD, can go back to HDD if you want

4) changed the case to a better quality one

5) changed the psu to a better one, you can add a gpu in the future

6) removed cpu cooler as the 6500 comes with stock cooler

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately

Please reply if there is something wrong with it!

No matter what you do, it will be agony with that slow hdd.

Get at least a 128gb ssd for a few $ more (if you dont install or store much on the pc, if you do a 256gb one),

that is going to make a gigantic difference.

Ok, this is information we need. You need to get a GPU.

I'm not doing any high end games though at high settings. It's all low end but I do intend to get one which is the reason why I choose a 400 watt psu.

@g12601 I do live streaming to Twitch which requires more CPU so switching to AMD isn't the best idea.

livestreaming on that rig is like trying to run a marathon, as a 100 year old person with arthritis. I'd definitely say go for an APU with your budget. This APU comes with the new Wraith cooler from AMD.

And AMD APU is way more budget friendly, and will excel well enough at anything you throw at it. The difference between mine and @Fulgrim's build, is that I opted for a full-size ATX mobo, and a better ram kit because you will need it to optimize your on-die gpu in the APU. Oh, and I actually have an hdd that you can install more than one game to.

The motherboard size won't affect it's performance. And your haven't chosen a "better" ram kit, you just went for dual 4gb sticks, rather than one. And if you knew about APU's, their gaming performance scales with faster ram. You chose slower ram. And how exactly does slower ram "optimize your on-die gpu" ?

Your build is also ~$50 more expensive.

You're right, the mobo doesn't affect performance. Like I said, I just opted for it, more of a personal preference that I am willing upon this poor soul.
