Reset the computer.

do this first, and if it doesnt fix the issue (this helps fix MY locked core clocks everytime)

completely wipe your GPU drivers and reinstall them, that's how I usually fix my bad overclocks...which fucks up the card from running normally at all :D

then do this (some people require to re-install their driver because idk why lol)

use DDU preferably when you uninstall your gpu driver

wait so it crashing once will fuck it up from running normally in the future?

it's probably a driver issue, preventing it from going higher

try restarting your computer first

New to overclocking here, got myself a nice over clock on the core clock of about 159+ because at 160 wierd things would happen during the heavens benchmark. Ran that benchmark for like 30 mins straight on its own with no problem. When i tried to overclock the memory i started at 100 because my friend had told me that's where you usually start for both core and memory clock. ran heaven for about 3.5 seconds and then it black screened on me. driver crash and all that which is no big deal knowing that was going to happen eventually. Then i toned it down to like+20 on memory overclock but now when i look at my frames its like halfed! my core clock is ranging in the 500mhz range and for some reason it wont go up for any game or benchmark for any reason. Does anyone else get this problem and know how to fix it?

It's not done anything to the card, just the drivers may have got corrupted from the crash and the OC...it's usually a driver issue if it's not boosting correctly :D

Just turn your computer off and on again. that should reset the driers if they didn't come back on their own after they crashed.

Thank you all for your help :) i restarted it before i posted this in the first place just to see if that would fix it but oddly trying it again after you guys told me to restart again with the case button this time fixed the problem! i'm going to keep these tips on hand for my overclocking attempts later
