Yes you should be pluggin in your monitor and ideally networking equipment into the UPS, just note that, that APC unit is only capable of 415W at max load so if your PC is under a heavy load it will trip the overcurrent protection of the UPS.

Hi! I'm looking to invest in a UPS. My monitor (Dell u3014) draws 60 watts and my computer draws 650 watts (my PSU is 850 watts bronze though). I'm currently looking at these:

https://tipidpc.com/viewitem.php?iid=39331378

https://tipidpc.com/viewitem.php?iid=39326047

https://tipidpc.com/viewitem.php?iid=39346681 (most expensive one!)

and I'll be real with you: I don't know much haha

I would recommend to look into something made by APC, Cyberpower, Eaton, or Tripplite as those are all brands I've never heard of it's hard to say the quality of their units.

Yeah. I am sketched out by the stuff I found and I was hoping someone in the forum could vouch for one of them. There's an APC unit I found too: https://tipidpc.com/viewitem.php?iid=39325988 but it's two folds more expensive than my initial picks

Unit:

APC BX800Li-MS 800va ($88)

Do I need to plug in my monitor in the UPS?

Huh... so that means I should buy a UPS that can support my system at max load.

Ideally yes since it would ensure it won't have a loss of power even during high loads when doing work or gaming.
