Could u recommend a card that would work with it and play any game smoothly ? or should i just upgrade to a phenom II x4 965 I'm sure it would work with my board but how would that work with the 960

It will work smoothly, just upgrade your processer in the future to like an i3 6100 or something and you should be good

It's too bad you aren't considering getting a new board...it might be a bit more worth your money to get a AM3+ board or even switch over to Intel. I don't mean to be the guy that comes in and babbles on about how bad your current CPU is along with how dumb it is to go up to the one you plan to, because don't give me wrong, on a tight budget just going up with CPU isn't bad at all and can probably do what you need it for.

im just thinking about how long it'll last you, and future proofing the CPU and motherboard.

/personally/ I think getting a new board and a i3 4160 would be better for gaming, future upgrades, and blah blah blah, other shit you would hear on any other post about AMD CPU upgrades.

but yes, the x4 965 should be a pretty good improvement from the x4 635, but I'm a bit unsure on the x4 965 overall. I believe my brother has one paired with a 760, and he's complained about slow performance in editing software and games, however if you just intend to be gaming, you should be all good.

Ok, so I found a motherboard that is for sale in my area that supports Intel chips. It comes with a 520 W power supply. The only thing I am worried about is whether or not it will fit my current tower. I'll post a link of both the motherboard I intend to buy, and my case. Could anyone tell me if the motherboard will be compatible with my Acer Aspire m3400 case?

motherboard:

my case:

I figured since the case is a micro ATX, and the motherboard is too, micro ATX, it should be compatible, right?

Thanks for your insights
