League will run on an Intel 4000 series laptop I have. It doesn't take much to league.
If it still plays league with acceptable frame on a 540m, however old, might as well use it.
You'll like being able to pay on something greater than min graphics, though.
The SSD wont really help with graphics, only boot and load times.

If you can take the frames you are getting then a ssd will be a nice little boost wont affect games but the laptop will be more snappy and lots better on boot and load times. You will get a slight boost in battery life aswell.

Well yes my main problem is the load times and boot times of the laptop I only use that machine when I go to play with friends but, it is worth the update for a laptop that old or could It be better to save the money and get a newer laptop
