Here are my system specs:

CPU: Intel Core i5-4690k 4.5Ghz

MoBo: Asus Z97-AR

Memory: Corsair LP 2x4GB DDR3 1600Mhz

Storage: OCZ ARC100 240GB

GPU: MSI GTX 970 4GB 100ME

OS: Latest version of Windows 10 as of April 2016

I have a re-occurring problem. Every time my PC crashes, or is unplugged from the wall without windows shutting down correctly, my user profile corrupts. The only way to fix it is to re-upgrade Windows 10  or clean install. What usually happens is this, after a crash, I noticed something acting up. Like Start not opening, Cortana not opening, sound not opening, or something not responding at all. So I run this command as Admin. DISM /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth or SFC /scannow, some error comes back that cannot be fixed. This has happened to me at least 17 times. Thank you!

Try to reinstall Windows

I have tried that at least 5 times in the past, but when it crashes 1 time, I have to do it again or re-upgrade to windows 10.

There are usually no errors, just a WIndows function stops working most of the time.

It varies. The last time it crashed was because of a bad Overclock. Sometimes the power goes out. others is just me not being careful and unplugging it.

its possible that your ssd doesnt have enough capacitance to allow it to finish doing what it's doing before it suddenly lost power

did you try on other hard disks as well?

that would actually be my guess. Before I got my SSD this sort of thing was unheard of. I had it installed on my HDD. WHat would you do?

3 options:

1) use your HDD for OS, and SSD just for games and applications

2) continue living your risky life

3) buy a new SSD

i would personally go with 3, if im low on budget option 1, i would be tired of clean installing windows everytime my pc crashes `-`

I am going to buy a new one. The is, I am going to trash this one. It is going into my laptop. I guess that will be a bit better considering these things: It can't crash because of OC, if the power goes out- I have a battery, And I don't use it that much. I have to put it into my laptop because my laptop's HDD is failing. I am going to buy the OCZ Trion 150 240GB.

I would buy a new SSD, if possible go for a samsung 8 series 830/840 etc... or cheaper option something like crucial M500 maybe bx200. I haven't bought from OCZ in a while, I had a faulty PSU that completely borked, and since I bought some expenive RAM from them and was pretty much DOA.. had problems with the system I had at the time and finally figured out it was the RAM, tested each stick individually and they both threw up errors pretty much non-stop. I RMA'd it no problem, but they wouldn't give me a refund only replacements.. in the meantime I needed some RAM to use my PC so ordered some cheap-ish Kingston RAM and it was fine and a lot cheaper.. so ended up selling the OCZ RAM for way less than it cost me, but was worth it to not go through those problems again. The kingston RAM still works BTW in my old rig that is now a testing rig.

Sorry if I did not make myself clear, but I meant my laptop literally has a battery. So if the power were to go out, I would still have 2-3hours of use on it. I cannot afford a Samsung Evo, because they cost much more than I can afford. OCZ has had problems, but I believe their modern SSDs are very reliable.

What's your budget for a new SSD, maybe we could come up with some better budget options for you?

I can understand there being problems with any company that makes components, I just do not trust them any more personally after the fiasco with the PSU AND RAM... and especially wouldn't trust them with SSD. Do you at least have a backup image to restore windows to your new SSD when you get one?

$60,I have already made a post about this. The OCZ Trion 150 is currently $70, but it will come down in price in a few days on Amazon (they only have 1 left in stock). The only two options I really have are the PNY CS1311 and OCZ Trion 150. But I prefer the OCZ for 3 reasons. It is better at small transfers than large ones (opposite of the PNY), OCZ/Toshiba has much more experience with storage devices than PNY, and the OCZ Trion 150 really just looks better in my opinion. And no.

Ah I see, no probs... Good luck with it bud. When you get it all up and running again, I highly recommend maing a backup image just in case thinsg go wrong... makes it easier to get up and running again in the even of a failure.
