Your Total War games are more CPU bound because of the AI - a good GPU will go far but just bear in mind that the fastest GPU on the planet won't make Total War games run any faster; that's a rare case where more cores are actually better for gaming. As for everything else, I'd get the 980Ti if you can afford it. No sense skimping on a Maxwell card if that's what you want.

well i already have intel core i7 6700 in my list is this not enough cpu power also wanna overclock it with my cooler so can get more performance i7 6700k

Nah it'll do you fine, I was just giving some perspective. Like an X99 or something could really maximize your gameplay but the 6700k will be just fine; I rock the 4790k and can have more than 10,000 units on the screen at high settings so it shouldn't be an issue.

but what peformance decrease do i get if go for 970 or 980 instead of 980 ti because i would like to record total war games and make videos of it. will a 970 enough for all those tasks? the problem is 980 ti so much more expensive is maybe better to go for i5 intstead of i7 and go for 980 ti?

You're looking to perform CPU intensive tasks, including streaming, downgrading the cpu would not be wise.

You may want to consider the 5820k, it has six cores, 12 threads, which would aid in streaming on top of your other tasks.

as far as your video card, you just need to figure out what framerates and details you need. obviously the 980ti is the best card.

Intel 5820K OC@4.7 / MSI Raider X99 / 32GB Corsair Dominator 3200mhz / x2 EVGA 980Ti Hybrid OC @1468 / Corsair Vengeance C70 (OD Green) / 2x Samsung 840 Evo in Raid 0 / Corsair RM1000x / Corsair H110i GTX  - Firestrike Score – 26156 (so far, lol)

well the  5820 is quit more expensive well its it maybe a idea to just buy game capture card that records my games to my second machine? i was think about it but skylake i7 6700k also has hyperthreading so it already has 8 threads so i think cpu power will be enough especially when i am overclocking. what are the benefit with those extra cores will it be better much better than a oc i7 6700k?

like almost everyone says, always buy single most powerful gpu you can buy. And dont want to sound like a fanboy why not consider radeon chips? or wait for polaris/pascal they are right around the corner and its gonna be a big one as they'd be die shrink.

CPU: FX8320 @ 4.2GHZ, GPU: R9 390 PCS+Cooler: Hyper 212 Evo, MotherBoard: ASRock 970 Extreme 3 r2.0, PowerSupply: EVGA 600b 80+Bronze, Storage: seagate Barracuda 1TB SSHD & Case: Corsair Carbide 200r

i dont like radeon line because of there power usage and heat is way to high and they perform not that well compared to 980 or 980 ti especially in atilla

i only have 500 watt psu so yeah and i want to make it as cool and quit as possible and as small as it can be

i know i might sound a bit crazy but for now buy a used gpu or a 750ti or something and wait for a few more months until polaris/pascal comes out, well at least that my suggestion. end of the day u do what u want to do!

Just wanted to add that a 980Ti would be more than enough for gaming well into the future. Pascal is gonna be sexy no doubt about it, but it's not like Maxwell will suddenly become obsolete the day it comes out; it's still a flagship card that can tackle most anything. But it's ultimately up to you of course, just tossing in my two cents.
