Low performance with high-end card?

VredinLad

Not long ago i got a R9 fury strix with the intend to play pretty much every game at 1080p max settings, but with some games i'm experiencing poor performance compared with benchmarks on the internet. for example, Metro last light at max settings i get 20~40 fps while benchmarks on the internet show 90 average (my benchmark got 61 average) and the weird thing is that my GPU is running at 100%.

Any ideas as to what is happening?

VSync does not limit to 40 fps right?

Well no it doesnt but I was having issues with my R7 360 to begin with. I turned off Vsync and I was getting much higher FPS than my original 20-40 in almost all games..

try uninstalling the driver using DDU in safemode

and install the latest driver directly from the amd website

if this doesnt work, you can try disabling all services except microsoft and launch the game

most benchmark runs at a clean enviroment where background softwares are minimal lol

i used DDU and downloaded the new driver from the site but still no gain in performance, the only way to get 50~60 fps is to turn graphics down to medium but that is unacceptable for a card of this price >:(

DDU isn't necessary anymore because Crimson clears drivers properly. The only time you should theoretically need it over Crimson if you have a supported GPU is when you fuck things up with OC or something, like with MSi Afterburner and the RivaTuner allows more b.s. to pass through QC (such as back in ~September).

Have you considered posting your RAM and CPU?

i have reinstalled the game and it still runs like a potato, the temps are at 85 celcius which no other game i played has achieved, i cant think of a reason why the game does this
