R9 380 4GB Crossfire vs GTX 970 SLI

As the title says I want to know which one is better if you take in an account the price difference. Two R9 380's are 570$ and two GTX 970's are 920$. Playing on a 1080p monitor.
Thanks!

for $570 just buy a 980ti. No point planning to SLi/CF low - mid level cards

or is this CAD $$$? Cause that 970 price seems very high.

Well, SLI 970s will undoubtedly be faster, but on a 1080p monitor saving $350 will not noticeably affect performance here. If you are set on a dual card setup, then the Crossfire 380s will be more than fast enough, but a single GTX 970/R9390 will perform just as well on a 60hz monitor.

EDIT: But at that budget I recommend a single 980ti.

This price that I have given is in my country. 980 TI is 930 dollars.

you can get a single GTX 980 ti for 600.00usd on newegg.com and it is better than both options. Also it is better to get a single better card rather than doing SLI or Cross-fire, they tend to stutter and have compatibility problems with a lot of programs.

if you're buying new, *ALWAYS* get the fastest single GPU you can get.

(unless for case filling, or if you're already going for the fastest one)

NEVER had a stutter on mine, only been 7 months and compatibility is fine on every game ive tried except JC3. 970s are also faster than a ti in the majority of situations ...... that said

I would never advise someone to build a 2 card system from off unless it's 2x high end cards (Fury, TI). If you have the budget for the 2x970s, just get the 980ti

SLI or Crossfire for 1080p gaming is overkill. Go for a 980ti and it will max all games out there on 1080p without much difficulty. As to which on is better I'd say the R9 380's give you more bang for you bucks. but seriously, go single...

I once explained to my girlfriend what true love is. I said, "If you were a shit, I'd put you back in" and to this day, she is still my little shit.

The 980TI costs 930$. This is why I don't want to go with that.

copy pasta from my old post in another thread

pros of SLI 970 (compared to single 980 Ti):

1) looks badass

2) performs better averagely

cons of SLI 970 (compared to single 980 Ti):

1) less vram (3.5gb vs 6gb)

2) more power usage

3) takes up more expansion slot

4) not all games support it

5) while it performs better averagely (refer to Pros 2) ) but the minimum fps is normally lower than a single 980 Ti, which will be perceived as stutters in game which is annoying

6) driver issues

7) SLI Scaling issues

8) Heat output issues

9) power draw issues (need a larger PSU)

thread:

Spoiler

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately

Then go for a single 980 or a r9 390 or even a 970 will suffice.
