How much amps and wats do I have ?

This is my psu and I want to know how much wats and amps is this psu (realpower). It is an cheap psu and I want to run radeon 6970.

Specs.

Q8400

3gb ddr2

Hdd 1TB sata

if you push it too much and the capacitors are bad quality it can/will burn out

this is MAX ratings, not continuous

crap PSUs always list the max rating becasue continuous is far below that

 

unless you want your house to burn down I would suggest you buy a good quality PSU, because that thing will blow up long before you draw 850W from it

You need to look at the 12 V rail. In this case, it puts out 25 amps on the 12 V rail. 12 V * 25 A = 300 Watts.

 

These days most of the power-hungry components in your PC draw from the 12 V rail, so a high-quality, modern PSU outputs most of it's rated wattage on that rail (for example). Seeing such an even split between the 12 V, 3.3 V, and 5 V rails indicates that this PSU isn't really intended for a [relatively] modern gaming PC with a powerful video card.

 

It's a lot more likely to just shut down or reboot your system spontaneously than perform any sort of pyrotechnics. Still not a great idea, though.

It has like 5 amps on the 12V rail. Ditch NOAW.

No proper power supply will be rated in a way that all of the rails are additive.

(12*25)+(12*20)+(5*30)+(3.3*30)+(12*.5)+(5*3)=810w

 

Have a look at the Antec EA-380D: http://www.antec.com/product.php?id=2212&fid=11&lan=us

If you were to add it together, you get 572.1w. However, if you were to factor in the max value of which the Over Current Protection (OCP) will shut off the PSU, which that Delux may had done, that would be 1012.8w instead.

 

If you look it like that, that Delux doesn't even on the same level as that proper 380w budget unit. Yes, that's only a speculation based off of specs chart, as such, just by what you gave us alone, we can't really tell you for sure that actual continuous power output of the unit - let alone its capability to do so within ATX specification. But that alone shows you the integrity of the company itself.

I really don't think the PSU you linked has the amperage on the +12 V rail to reliably power a system with an HD 6970. Your load power draw will likely be over 300 Watts, and that either puts you right at the limits of what this PSU can do, or worse, slightly over. You really do not want to run a PSU like this right at the edge of it's capacity.
